Join us for Candidate Forums to hear directly from those running to represent our community in Prince George's County, MD.This community initiative is designed to give residents the opportunity to learn about every race on the ballot through structured, moderated discussions with candidates.

Each forum will include opening statements, moderated questions, and opportunities for audience engagement to ensure voters leave informed and prepared for the primary election. Please register via Eventbrite to join us for one of these very important candidate upcoming forums:

Members-Only Game Night: Black Card Revival Edition (04/17/2026)

Thursday Network is hosting a members-only game night for anyone interested in learning some classic, culturally significant Black card-table staples such as Spades, Dominos, and Uno.

Never played before? Perfect. Our seasoned members (aka people who take Spades very seriously) will be on hand to teach the rules, the strategy, and the proper way to dramatically slam a domino on the table.

We’ll also be screening one Black film, which members will vote on ahead of time! Light refreshments will be served.

Come for the games, stay for the laughs, and leave with at least one new skill and possibly a friendly rivalry.

2026 National Day of Service: Career Exploration Workshop (04/18/2026)

Thursday Network will host an interactive Career Exploration Workshop for Empowerment Academy students as part of the 2026 National Day of Service. The workshop will introduce students to high-wage career pathways through small-group challenges and discussions led by Thursday Network members and mentors. Participants will engage in real-world scenarios while learning directly from professionals about their educational journeys, career paths, and professional experiences.

KEEN DC Sports Sessions Volunteer Day (04/19/2026)

Join the Thursday Network as we volunteer with KEEN DC to support athletes with disabilities through adaptive sports and recreation! Volunteers will work one-on-one with athletes to help them participate in fun physical activities while building confidence and community.

Volunteers will support two back-to-back sports sessions and must be available for the full duration of the event (9:45 AM – 12:45 PM).

KEEN requires a quick registration process (background check + 2 non-family references) since volunteers work 1:1 with youth

Fund development is not only concerned with raising money, but in doing so in a way that builds long-term sustainable relationships to ensure that the organization’s mission and vision are realized.
