Moreover, we host events that provide a comfortable place for people to learn from one another and form meaningful connections.

The Empowerment Academy is Thursday Network’s signature mentoring program for youth in DC focused on personal development, college readiness, career exploration, healthy living and volunteerism. The Empowerment Academy will support students in the DMV by providing mentors to lead sessions focused on leadership, identity, and career exploration.

The 2026 Empowerment Academy schedule includes: Meeting with students on Saturdays from 10am to 2pm for 6 weeks.

Please note that signing up for a mentoring session alone does not complete your registration. All mentors and mentees are required to submit the respective Application Form below in addition to registering for a session.
