Juneteenth  Weekend Celebration

Join Thursday Network as we honor the black history of the past, black excellence of today, and black liberation of the future during our 2021 JUNETEENTH Weekend Celebration!

Black Joy Art and Music Showcase  

On Friday, June 18  at 6pm, Thursday Network will host a Black Art and Music showcase at the Sandlot Southeast. Enjoy sounds from DC's finest played by DJ Dex, buy Black from our mini pop-up featuring local creatives, and enjoy art displays presented by DMV based artists.

The Venue: Sandlot Southeast is a black owned outdoor bar and even space that offers cold-pressed cocktails & grab-and-go meals, nestled between The Bend and a residential dog run & dog park located at the base of the Fredrick Douglas Memorial Bridge. While reservations are not required, we recommend considering making a reservation to ensure seating. For the Culture Scavenger Hunt

On Saturday, June(teenth) 19 at 11am, TN is hosting a DMV-wide scavenger hunt designed to highlight the black history that surrounds us. Celebrate the legacy of our ancestors through a fun and interactive day out in the city and compete for amazing prizes!


1st Place: $50 Target Gift Card for each Team Member 

2nd Place: $25 Gift Card to Dinner at a DMV Black owned restaurant. 

3rd: "Trust Black Women" Tee Designed by the Hustler's Guild (Check out the Tee)

*Prizes are awarded to each individual team member! 

Participants can compete individually or in teams and can begin the hunt from MD, DC, or VA. This game is public transportation friendly/ accessible.  Want to participate with a group but don't have a team in mind? TN will assign you to a team if you register by Wednesday, June 16th.

Black Liberation Community Day

On Sunday, June 20th at 2pm Join Thursday Network at The Big Chair SE for a Community Day! We will be partnering with local ANCs, community organizations, and the Mayors Office to provide services and resources to neighborhoods East of the River, including an on-site COVID-19 Vaccination Station. In honor of Father’s Day we will also be handing out giveaways and raffling off prizes to Fathers in attendance.

In order to keep our attendees safe, non-vaccinated guests will be asked to wear face masks while in attendance at any in-person events.  Additionally, please  refrain from attending these in-person events if:

-you are not fully vaccinated and have traveled at any point in the past fourteen (14) days either internationally or to a state in the U.S. that has DC has mandated a quarantine for.

The mission of TN is to provide a forum for young adults, ages 21 – 40, to focus their energies on community service, professional development, and political involvement.
