Thursday Network is thrilled to partner with The Greater Washington Urban League’s Guild for the third year of Project STEAM Ahead! This initiative is designed to engage students in grades 6-12 in an exciting TECHNOLOGY project that integrates SCIENCE,MATH and the ARTS in a fun and interactive way.

This immersive experience will teach basic coding skills while helping students sharpen and enhance existing skills. By the program’s end, participants will collaboratively create  a video game, brought to life with the help of storytellers and illustrators. Each session will be led by a skilled team dedicated to sparking students’ creativity and intellect.

If you know a 6th-12th grade student who might be interested, please have them complete the intake form  and list “Thursday Network” as their reference.

We can’t wait to inspire the next generation of innovators!

You DO NOT need to be in a STEAM related field or have any prior coding experience to volunteer for this program but you must be a TN member.

Volunteer Dates: Every Saturday for eight weeks from Feb 8th - April 5th, with a celebration and student presentation on week nine. It is recommended to sign-up for at least 2 sessions per month to better foster relationships with students.

Time: 10am - 12pm
