The Give Back: A Wider Circle Join Week Community Service Event

Please join us on Saturday, February 8th from 10:30am-2pm as we continue Join Week with our Community Service Event. Thursday Network will be partnering with A Wider Circle to help organize and stock home items for individuals and families transitioning out of homeless situations or living without life's necessities. Thursday Network will help sort the donations and stock the showrooms while  assisting clients in selecting items. The donations that are received include household furniture, linens, kitchen items, toys, and professional clothing and accessories.

All first-time volunteers need to complete a waiver form prior to service day.The waiver form requires a parent or guardian to sign off for anyone under the age of 18. Volunteers will want to dress in comfortable clothes and closed-toed shoes (sneakers are best). The center is not fully temperature controlled, so please dress for the weather. 

A Wider Circle will be taking us through detailed instructions so please arrive early! 

There are several transportation options for volunteers, outlined below:

Metro Stop: Redline Stop Forest Glen Metro Station. It is 0.8 mile (15 minute) walk to the location.

Bus Routes: The 5,17 and Y2 all leave from Silver Spring Metro Station around 9:45am and drop off closer to the location. 

Parking: There is offsite parking for volunteers. It is important that volunteers follow the map (see here) to ensure they find the correct area to park. 

The mission of A Wider Circle is to end poverty through on-the-ground programs and services, as well as through the development of large-scale solutions to its root causes. A Wider Circle holistic approach focuses on the creation of stable homes, workforce development programming to move families to economic
