Virtual National Day of Service

For this year's National Day of Service Thursday Network will host a virtual event due to the nationwide shut down from COVID-19. Each presentation will cover a unique component in the STEAM field that relates to a common society or community issue and can be replicated and done at home with proper supervision and equipment. Our agenda for the day includes:

  • Introduction

  • Demo 1: Water and Pollution by Aleah Holton

    • Items for experiment: water, water bottle, oil, food coloring, soil

  • Demo 2: Marine Biology by Dr. Jeanette Davis

  • Demo 3: Viruses by Briana Lynch

    • Items for experiment: water, water bottle, pepper, soap

  • Closing Remarks

We’re asking TN members who are teachers or who are connected to teachers to consider/pass along this information to get more students involved! If you or a teacher you know is interested, please fill out or ask them to fill out this interest form. Once filled, teachers will receive a Zoom registration link requiring the following information:

  • Name 

  • Email

  • Teacher or Student

  • Grade level or Classroom grade

  • School Name

The mission of TN is to provide a forum for young adults, ages 21 – 40, to focus their energies on community service, professional development, and political involvement.
