The Thursday Network Food Pantry is committed to supporting our community members in need, and you can help make a lasting impact! Whether it’s donating non-perishable items, contributing funds, or volunteering your time, every effort counts. Let’s come together to provide essential food and household items for those who need them most. Join us for our next volunteer opportunity on Saturday, November 16th, at 10:00 AM.

Also, on November 16, we are excited to announce our 2024 Turkey Drive! Giant Food has generously donated 100 turkeys to Thursday Network! Of these, 90 turkeys will be distributed to East of the River Mutual Aid to support families in need. We are requesting volunteer drivers to help with the transportation of these turkeys.

This is a wonderful opportunity to help ensure local families have a special holiday meal. If you're interested in volunteering as a driver, please sign up. we would love to see you there!

Please also meet at GWUL at 10:00 AM to receive distribution instructions before proceeding to the pickup location.

  • Pickup Location: Giant Food (Columbia Heights) 1345 Park Rd NW Washington, DC 20010
  • Drop-off Location: Bread for the City 1640 Marion Barry Ave SE, Washington, DC 20020

Important Notes:

  • The distance between pickup and drop off location is approximately 6.6 miles (25 minute drive)
  • Please be prepared to lift heavy items - each turkey weighs between 12-15 pounds
  • Your vehicle should have adequate trunk or cargo space.
Please register to volunteer via the link in our bio. We look forward to serving with you! Please email Clayton Guy, Community Service Events Chair at csevents@thursdaynetwork.org
