Kyarha Meadows-Russell

Candidate for Community Service Programs Chair

Member since since 2024

Why are you running for this position?

I am running for this position because I want to expand Thursday Network's annual community service programs. This past year as the Community Service Programs Chair has been a great experience and I want to do even more with this position next year.

What qualifications do you possess that make you uniquely qualified for this position?

This past year as the community service programs chair has taught me how to problem solve when organizing events. It has also strengthened my leadership and time management skills.

What initiatives would you implement if selected for this position?

An initiative that I would like to see from the community service programs committee this up coming term is to revamp and expand the food pantry. I would like to come up with a way to reach more families in DC and possibly expand to Maryland.

If selected for this position, describe how you would use your role to impact on the Thursday Network, the Greater Washington Urban League, and the National Urban League Young Professionals?

In this role I want to maintain the traditions and legacy of Thursday Network's signature programs while also expanding and doing more for our community. I know that with more work and partnering with the Greater Washington Urban League and the National Urban League Young Professionals our community service programs can reach more of those in need in our community.

How much time can you commit to this position per month?
