The City of Hyattsville needs volunteers to help restore a footpath Macgruder Park on June 29th.

The Macgruder Park footpath brings a tremendous amount of civic pride to Hyattsville residents. The foot path connects park users to the NW Branch Trail, it directs folks through the woods and off of the restored areas of the woods.  The path has been built and maintained by Volunteers.

The footpath is made of wood chips from trees that the city has taken down. The project involves filling wheelbarrows with the wood chips and adding those to the path. It's pretty straight forward. They need volunteers to shovel wood chips, then take the wheel barrow into the woods, and dump the chips, while other volunteers rake the chips into the path. It is a great group project for team building folks and can be a lot of fun.

Volunteers should dress for the elements; long sleeves, long pants and sturdy boots or shoes. You will get dirty! Please also bring water and sunscreen.
