      Team Challenge Frequently Asked Questions

      How Is My Activity Calculated?

Your BigTeamChallenge activity is calculated directly from activity data provided by your activity tracking devices or apps.

      Compatible Devices and Apps

Count. It is compatible with the following activity tracking devices and apps:

      How Does my activity sync?

Once connected, data should flow automatically between your tracking device or app and BigTeamChallenge.

Here's the quick explanation on how it works:

      • Every device has a related app running on your phone. Or, the app may simply be using the phone itself as your "tracker."
      • When you open up your app, it will typically begin to sync. This gets the data from your wearable device, (if you have one), to the app, and, at the same time, sends that new data from your app to its related Internet servers. In most cases, this sync should happen in background, but just to be safe, it's good to open it and make sure it's up to date.
      • Roughly once an hour, BigTeamChallenge "polls" the servers related to your app or device (i.e. Fitbit, Garmin, Jawbone, RunKeeper, etc.) and grabs your data.
      • You can also force a sync between BigTeamChallenge and your service by clicking the sync icon on your personal profile page (under settings). If you do this, it may still take a few minutes for the data to show up, depending on Fitbit-Count.It server loads, etc.

Can I connect Multiple Tracking Devices or Apps?

Yes! BigTeamsChallenge looks at the activity data from all your devices/apps, and credits you with the best score for any given activity across all devices. That is, if you use two devices to track your steps, we’ll take the one that shows the most steps for a given day, and ignore the other. If you use one device to track steps, and another app to track your cycling, you’ll get credit for both your steps and your cycling miles.

      How do you win?

There are three ways to win the step challenge. Prizes TBD.

      • Overall: The top three teams with the most steps at the end of the challenge will win 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places
      • Region: The top team from each region will win for their region
      • Unity Teams: The regional unity team with the most steps at the end of the challenge will win
